Game 64 - Week 20

Only two games to go in the latest game 64 season.  I'm delighted to say that the final turn of the season will be a live turn next Tuesday evening.  And it could possibly be a thriller.

Spurs are just a point from clinching the Premier league title, Anthony Brockway's side were held 0-0 by James West's Aston Villa this week, but that scoreline means they're still five points clear of second placed Wolves and need only a point at home to Jamie Maycroft's struggling Man City in week 21.  With the title all but over, City are down in part of the more exciting end of the table - a 4-1 drubbing at the hands of Sam Roberts' Doncaster means that, mathematcially at least, anyone from sixth placed Villa down to Doncaster in 11th could yet be relegated.  Doncaster are second bottom but three vital points this week have kept their hopes of survival alive, and if they can win next week at already relegated Liverpool they could even be out of the drop zone.  Rivals are playing each other - Everton entertain Villa, Man United at home to Scarborough - so the picture in the bottom three could look very different by Friday morning.

Promotion back to the Prem has been won by Steve Bennett's Arsenal and Chris Burton's Wednesday, those two well clear of the rest all season.  Kirk Greenway's West Ham are a comfortable second and will be favourites to join them via the playoffs.

Just two points separate the top six in the Euro league, any of them could yet win the title.  Jamie Maycroft's Dnipro lead by a point after a 3-0 win at bottom of the table Inter Milan, Patrick Lyon's New York Red Bull one point behind after they won 4-1 at Benfica.  Glen Pine's Basle failed to win at home for the second game in a row, following last weeks defeat to Bayern with a 1-1 draw against Rich Coupland's Lazio - a result which means that those two sides are also on 36 points, level with Red Bull, a point behind the leaders.  Gerard O'Brien's Bayern won 1-0 at home to Chris Burton's Monaco whilst Real Madrid won 1-0 at home to PSG - both are on 35 points and very much still in it.  Dnipro travel to relegated Benfica next week and Real Madrid are at home to bottom side Inter, Lazio entertain Bayern in a game which could see one of those two knocked out of the running.

Sam Roberts' Stromsgodset and Louis Browne's Valencia are both promoted from Serie B.  The playoffs should be between Bazz Wetton's Antwerp and David Burton's Mini Mars.

Game 64 - Week 13

A little over halfway through the season, both leagues are looking more open than ever.  Gerard O'Brien's Bayern lead the European by a point from Dnipro after a goal difference boosting 4-1 win at Benfica this week.  Jamie Maycroft's side are second after a narrow home win over Chris Burton's Monaco, Higuain's early penalty the difference between the two sides.  Glen Pine's Basle are level on points with Dnipro after they twice came from behind to win 4-2 at bottom of the table Inter.  New York Red Bull are third, Patrick Lyons' side leapfrogging James West's Milan by beating them 4-1.  Just two points separate the next five clubs, all in danger of relegation.  Four of them played each other this week - PSG and Lazio drawing 2-2, Real battering Lazio 4-1.

Spurs lead Rangers by a point in the Prem, both sides held to draws this week though.  Anthony Brockway's Tottenham drew 1-1 at Glen Pine's Bournemouth, Rangers held 1-1 at home by Kieran Hundal's Everton.  Wolves are up into third after a 2-0 win at home to Aston Villa, with Scarborough fourth - Craig Rathey's side doing much better than their last time in the top flight.  Chelsea are fifth after a 3-0 home win against Liverpool, five points off the top but still very much in the title race.

Game 75 - Week 23 - Lukaku Fires Everton To Promotion!

Marc Cushnie's Everton are back in the Premier League after a playoff victory this week.  After a narrow 2-1 semi final win over Ipswich they faced John Ferguson's Aston Villa in the final, Villa having beaten Bolton 4-2.  Villa finished third in the table, Everton fourth, so perhaps they were slight favourites, but there wasn't too much in it - and in the end one player made all the difference.  Lukaku scored after just three minutes at Wembley to put the Toffees in front, Skrtel levelled for Villa but the big Belgian striker added two more to earn Everton a glorious victory.

 Borussia Dortmund saw off Santos 1-0 in the Euro playoffs, Dortmund having beaten Parma 2-1 in the semi final.

Game 99 - Week 13

Wins for the top two in the Prem, Wolves beating Blackburn 2-1, Spurs with a 1-0 victory at West Ham, so no big changes at the top of the table - Jamie Maycroft's Wolves side still four points ahead.  Anthony Brockway's United climb into third after Aubameyang scored in the final minute to give them a 1-0 home win over Arsenal, Everton dropping a place after they drew 2-2 at Manchester City.  Kieran's City were 2-0 up in that game, and even though that moves them a point closer to safety, they're still deep in trouble in the drop zone, eight points behind the team above them - Arsenal.  Coach Pine's Villa are even worse off - only three points and relegation looking pretty certain for them too.

Joe Hughes' Roma lead Serie A by four, Cabaye getting the winner as they beat Ian Taplin's PSG 2-1 in Rome.  Anthony Brockway's Barcelona beat Milan 3-2 and are second, Pat Lyons' Bayern dropping to third after a 0-0 draw with La Coruna.

Game 64 - Week 14

Villa move two points clear at the top of the Prem, Mario Ballotelli's first half goal giving James West's side a 1-0 win at West Ham, whilst rivals Bournemouth were held 2-2 at home by Man United - Welbeck with two for United after Glen Pine's side had led 2-0 early on.  A 2-1 defeat for Doncaster at Wolves means that Sam Roberts' side are now three points off the top - but also means that Joe Hughes' Wolves side have renewed hopes of beating the drop.  They're still in the bottom three, but only a point now behind West Ham and Chris Burton's Sheffield Wednesday who lost 3-0 at Chelsea.
Mark Wheat's Juve saw their lead in Serie A cut to three points following a 1-0 defeat at James West's Milan, Insigne's penalty the difference between the two sides.  Gerard O'Brien's Bayern are second after a 4-0 demolition on bottom of the table Antwerp, level on points with Milan, three behind the leaders.

Game 64 - Week 13

Well into the second half of the season now in game 64, and Markie Wheat's Juventus are looking strong at the top of the Euro league.  A 3-1 victory over Pat Lyons' Red Bull saw them open up a five point lead at the top of the table this week.  Defending champions Dnipro moved into second place, Jamie Maycroft's side beating Gerard O'Brien's Bayern 1-0 - they drop to fourth, a point behind the Ukranians.  James West's Milan are into third after a 2-1 win at Antwerp, Richard Ladd's PSG fifth after a 2-0 home win over Mini Mars.  That battle for second place is very close - 2nd to 5th all separated by a point, but as things stand, Markie's boys are well in control.

Three teams are tied on 22 points at the top of the Prem, James West's Villa top of them after a thumping 4-0 win over last weeks leaders, Glen Pine's Bournemouth who are second, and Doncaster are the other after a 3-1 victory at home to Arsenal.   Marc Lewry's United are still in the running after Gael Clichy's last gasp goal earnt them a 1-0 win in the Manchester derby, Anthony Brockway's Spurs also in there, just three points off the top, after a 2-1 home win against Kirk Greenway's West Ham - the Hammers dropping dangerously close to the bottom three.

Game 64 - Week 8

Great week for Paris St, Germain - they won 2-1 away at champions Dnipro to move right into contention in the Euro League.  Early goals from Costa and Otamendi put Richard Ladd's team in control, and despite Corluka pulling one back quarter of an hour from the end, the points ended up in Paris.  PSG are now only a point behind the leaders, after Juventus also lost - 2-0 at Benfica - whilst Bayern could only draw - 0-0 at NY Red Bull.  The title race is once again as open as you'd expect in game 64, three points separate the top six.  FC Basle, who came so close last season, are as far down as 8th now after a 1-0 loss at Stromsgodset but they, along with the team that beat them, are only five points from the top and also definitely not out of the running.  Milan are up into sixth after a 1-0 win over Mini Mars, Red Bull fifth after that point at home to Bayern.  Down at the bottom, it was a great win for Benfica this week - that moves them out of the bottom three.  Antwerp also recorded a brilliant win, beating Lazio 2-0 at home.  Mini Mars are now bottom of the table, Antwerp one point above hem with Lazio dropping into the relegation zone just a point further up.  Benfica on 8 points are now just outside the bottom three.

Promotion from Serie B looks pretty likely already for both Real Madrid and Monaco - they're both unbeaten with 7 wins and a draw from their 8 games.  Both won 4-1 this turn, Monaco with the more impressive victory away at Stewart Megrath's LA Galaxy, Soldado bagging a hat-trick.

Wins for four of the top five in the British league, Cavani's goal enough for Doncaster to beat Man U 1-0, Bournemouth crushing Wolves 4-1, Villa winning 4-0 at home to Rangers and Man City beating West Ham 2-1 - the Hammers thus becoming the only one of the top five teams to lose and they drop to fifth as a result.  Doncaster still lead Bournemouth by a point.  Down at the bottom, two goals from Messi helped Arsenal to a 3-1 win at Chelsea which means they stay deep in trouble but have a three point gap to bottom club Rangers.  Chelsea are a place and a point above Arsenal, with Sheffield Wednesday just outside the drop zone following a 1-1 draw at Spurs.  Wolves and Tottenham are a point above the Owls.

Just like two seasons ago, Scarborough are rampant in division 1, Fulham becoming the 8th team to lose to Craig Rathey's side this season.  A Samuel Eto'o hat-trick saw Liverpool win 3-0 at Southampton to stay two points behind the leaders.  Kieran Hundal's Everton won 3-0 at home to Notts County and are four points behind.  The top two haven't played each other yet, so that might give Everton a chance to close the gap.

Super Cup semi finals took place this week, goals from Ronaldo and Ribery saw Bayern Munich beat PSG 2-1 whilst Doncaster beat Everton 3-1.
