Game 64 - Week 15

Coach Pine took a big step towards a double game 64 triumph with wins for both Bournemouth and Basle this week mean that both have five point leads at the top of both tables.  Bournemouth were made to battle away at Craig Rathey's relegation threatened Scarborough, taking the lead early in the second half and then having to hang on with 10 men after Francis was sent off, for a 1-0 win.  Doncaster were held 1-1 at Man City so drop to third, with Spurs climbing into second place after a 1-0 home win against Arsenal.  Chelsea climb into the top half of the table after a 2-0 home win over West Ham, despite being down in sixth they're still only 8 points behind the leaders - and more importantly just three points behind second place and a potential champions league spot.  Wolves won 3-1 at Celtic to move away from the bottom three slightly, meaning that the defeats for Scarborough and West Ham mean that one of those two is currently looking most likely to join Derby and Celtic in division 1 next season.

Man United should end up going the other way, Marc Lewry's side have a six point lead at the top of division 1, but they were beaten 2-1 by Nick Smith's Liverpool this week.  David Newton's Rangers are second after a thumping 4-0 win at Norwich, they lead Chris Burton's Sheffield Wednesday on goal difference after the Owls won 3-1 at home to Newcastle.  Pre-season promotion favourites Everton are now down to fourth after a 1-1 home draw with Burnley, but are only a point behind their two rivals.  Liverpool are five points from automatic promotion and Grimsby, in sixth, are 15 points back but showing great form and should hang on to make the playoffs despite Newcastle having a new boss - the one and only Andy Cooper!

Wins for the top three in Serie A means that Basle are one match closer to the title, they won 3-0 at home to Lazio, whilst Gerard O'Brien's Bayern beat Real Madrid 3-0 and Jamie Maycroft's Dnipro beat Mini Mars 3-1.  PSG probably saw their title hopes ended with a 0-0 draw at home to PSV.  No massive changes at the bottom either - the bottom four all lost, that point for PSV moves them up from 9th to 8th.  Antwerp and New York Red Bull both recorded useful wins to move themselves into the top half of the table - still looking over their shoulders but both now threatening the top four.
